## Notes
### Hard work
- "Hard work leading to success is a myth."
- "Get yourself far enough from the pack so that you're in open water."
- Work hard to get some breathing room. Once you have it, you can back off.
- At certain points in your career, you have to grind.
### Running for planes
- "It didn't make a different whether you ran for a plane or not. You're either gonna to make it or you weren't going to make it; and the running didn't make the difference."
- "So many entrepreneurs are running for planes."
- "You don't lose the deal because you weren't up 2:00 that morning because you didn't check the fonts. You lost that deal 4 weeks ago, when you didn't have some fundamentals right."
- Sometimes, the outcomes of a setup is completely out of our control. For those cases, it just wasn't meant to be.
- For the outcomes were things are within our control, what matters is effort put into the pieces that matter; the prep and the planning, less so the polish.
- [[If you're smart about the things you choose to focus on, you make 99% of the difference.]]
- [[If you want to make the plane, you leave earlier.]]
- [[Part of success is preparation on purpose]].
- "I do not need to get everything right, because most things don't make a difference; some things do."
### Pivotal changes
- Product market fit - When you recognize something that customers actually do want. The momentum of the business dramatically shift.
- Up until product market fit, it's a constant struggle of trying to find it; trying to increment your way closer.
- Try things. Hundreds of things.
- [[Keep trying in the pursuit of something that works, not your currently idealized state of perfect.]]
- Once you got that fast, things get sloppy.
- "If it was a bad idea, even if you spent a month, it wasn't going to make it a good idea."
- [[Good ideas reveal themselves; even with sloppy setups.]]
- It's not about having a good idea. It's about building a process, a culture, and a system to try a lot of bad ideas.
