## Notes
- It's important to allow yourself to rest. Have some days where you may not do anything productive at all.
- Productivity is a balance. [[Productivity is a mindset]].
- It is very difficult to force yourself into a productive mood.
- An effective method to be productive when you have to is to trick your mind (and your mood ) to think and feel like you're being more productive. To create the **momentum** to get over the initial hump and to set the **rhythm of getting things done**.
- Break big tasks into smaller tasks. Break down studying a book to studying chapters, then break down studying to skimming, reviewing and summarizing each chapter.
- Break down a mountain into approachable steps. The amount of physical effort won't change to climb it. But at least you can see the path ahead.
- [[Break down one hard giant task into many easy tiny tasks]].
- "Feeling more productive will make you feel even more productive".
- There is satisfaction in crossing things off your list. This feeling of accomplishment helps you build momentum. Mix easy, medium and hard tasks.
- Use the [[2-minute rule]] and [[5-minute rule]] to do the tasks that you may not want to do right now.
- [[On good days, you "get to do". On bad days, you "might as well".]]
- Keep your expectations low. The point is to do not excellence or perfection.
- Understand your productivity triggers both good and bad. Triggers can be positive things like having a warm beverage or negative things like social media. Intentionally encourage and avoid these triggers - especially on more difficult days.
- Don't forget to account for active resting time. Depriving yourself from non-productive things you enjoy or feel passionate about will make you want to be productive less.
- [[Productivity is a balance of maintaining momentum over the interplay of various types of doing]].
- Balanced productivity provides a more balanced overall experience.
- [[Balanced productivity is a sustainability practice]]. Balance is sustainability.
