## Notes
### Control
- "Having control means that you have the power to change something".
- [[You cannot control what others do, only how you respond to them]].
- [[You have the power over your mind, not outside events. Realize this and you will find strength.]]
- [[There's never any need to get worked up about things you cannot control]].
- [[Strengthened the will of self. Don't bend the will of others.]]
- "Regulating your emotions means how you **choose** to **react** to things".
- "Knowing that something is out of our control helps us focus on the things that are in our control."
- We have control over our breath, body, thoughts and words.
### Circle of control
- We are at the center of the circle of control. We have control over what appears in the innermost circle - our minds, bodies, emotion and spirit.
- Beyond that inner circle you have little to no control. You have, at best, influence.
- [[You need self control and an out of control world]].
- [[I cannot control the wind but I can direct the sail]].
- I can take my **deep breath** and get ready to **solve my small problems**.
- You cannot control how others may react. However, you may anticipate it. Therefore, you should consider the potential effects of others before you act.
- [[Side effects may not be controllable, but they may be anticipated]].
- The desire to control others comes from our inability to control ourselves.
- We assign blame onto others for our own dissatisfactions, which suggests that others are the problem. Problems to be controlled. Problems to be managed.
- Choose to focus on the things we do have control over.
