- Be a guardian, not a gatekeeper. The line that separates the two is defined by the openness to change. Both positions come from noble places - to be protectors of what and of whom they value. However, one position supports growth while the other shelters it.
- Take the time to truly understand the true needs of that which you are guarding. It may involve inter-acting and inviting someone new. It may not involve you at all. Don’t let your sense of pride distort what’s best for that which you are protecting.
